Living with various types of arthritis can be painful, and even debilitating at times. I know first hand how arthritis affects one’s life. I am always on the lookout for products that can decrease the pain and provide relief on a daily basis.
Today, I am sharing some wonderful gifts that provide comfort relieve the inflammation, aggravation, and pain of arthritis symptoms. Any of these gifts would be very much appreciated by that special person in your life who is experiencing the pain associated with arthritis.
Not all of these gifts are found on the wish list of the average person, but for someone with arthritis they can definitely provide relief and are really more of a NEED than a want. Practical gift giving means choosing gifts that are meaningful to the person who receives them. Gifts that improve the overall quality of someone’s life are guaranteed to remind that special someone of your thoughtfulness for years to come.
I purchased the Benefab ceramic gloves about three years ago, and let me just say, “WOW!” These gloves truly relieve painful inflammation in my wrist and fingers. A sweet friend and previous co-worker, who is also an avid horse lover recommended this product to me.
Caroline’s horse had a joint injury that wouldn’t heal, the injury was affecting the quality of life for her horse, and this was extremely troublesome for both the horse and Caroline. She took her horse to the vet who wrapped the horse’s joint in a ceramic horse bandage. The horse’s joint showed a marked decrease in inflammation resulting in increased healing for the beloved horse.
Upon discovering the same technology was available in ‘people’ gloves, Caroline did not hesitate to purchase a pair for herself. She was amazed at the relief the gloves provided for her own fingers that had started showing signs of arthritis inflammation and pain. After giving them a solid try, Caroline then passed the information along to me. I admit I was a bit skeptical at first.
But willing to try anything that might help, I went down to the local Equestrian store to purchase the Benefab ceramic gloves. The unique gloves utilize a fabric infused with ceramic nanoparticles to promote relaxation in muscles, joints, tendons, and ligaments which in turn reduces pain and inflammation.
The gloves are fingerless, making them easy to wear at home, at the office, or even while blogging! They are not warm or thick like winter gloves, although they do actually warm up the joints. It’s important to gradually build up your tolerance to the gloves by slowly increasing the time you wear them each day.
Ceramic gloves provide the same benefits as pressure gloves but without the discomfort of compression. They provide pain relief which makes them a great gift for someone with arthritis in the joints in their hands. The Pink Compression Gloves are a comparable product and available Amazon.
Heatable slipper booties.
Plush, heatable slippers are a dream come true for aching, painful feet riddled with arthritis. I have never seen slippers like these in the stores, my feet are so happy I spotted them on the Lillian Vernon website! Not only are they quick to heat up in the microwave to keep your tender tootsies and ankles warm but these booties are infused with lavender essential oil. These plush slipper boots provide ultimate soothing relief for anyone with arthritis in their feet.
Fleece heated throw.
Keeping the whole body cozy and warm eases the aches and pains of a body riddled with arthritis. Heated blankets are a superb gift idea, I mean who doesn’t want to cuddle under one of these soft fleece blankets on a chilly winter day? Okay, my friends who are having hot flashes, I hear ya, no blankets for you!
Keeping the neck and shoulders warm is imperative and improves circulation to these areas, and improved circulation means reduced inflammation. Scarves are a great way to keep your neck and shoulders warm, and also one of the best accessories for winter dressing. With endless style choices in various colours and fabrics, a scarf makes a great personal, yet practical gift.
Heating pad (s).
The extra length of a king size heating pad means increased blood flow stimulating muscle relaxation and healing to a larger area. This particular heating pad also has an auto-shutoff feature which gives me peace of mind because, in our house, it seems children and adults alike forget to turn it off. Oh yes, this gift is on my LOVE list. As someone with arthritis all throughout my body, I am never without a heating pad!
Bolster pillows provide lumbar support, improving posture can ease the arthritic lower back pain. There are traditional bolsters pillows for the car and office chairs but often we forget to make use of one while relaxing on the sofa. The soft blues and greens in this whimsical snowflake scene make this bolster pillow a beautiful holiday gift.
Make the gift suitable all year long with an affordable pillow cover, what can I say, I love practical gifts!

Household gadgets to take the pressure off wrist and finger joints.
Using practical household gadgets (even if the gadgets are ugly, haha) to ease the pressure on the wrist and finger joints in arthritic hands decreases wear and tear on the joints that are affected by inflammation. These two handy-dandy gadgets I really would not want to be without. I love to receive practical gifts but I realize that not everyone does. If the person for whom you are buying the gift isn’t going to be thrilled with a household gadget, simply pair the gift with soothing bath bombs, candles, or a warm scarf. Give a gift that is useful in alleviating arthritic pain and help them de-stress which is also important in controlling the symptoms of auto-immune and arthritic diseases.
This gadget is a lifesaver for fingers and wrist joints. I am on my second Robo, I had the first one for about ten years and had paid $25.00, what a fantastic low-cost investment! To use the jar opener, just place it on the lid of any jar you wish to open, push the big green button and voila, the Robo rotates until you hear that magic sound, ‘POP.’ The work is done, without any further damage to the fragile joints in the hands.
Can I just say EEEEEEEKKKKK about this next little scrubbing tool? The Reveal power scrubber saves arthritic fingers from so much agony. Scrubbing the ring around sink drains, the shower door seal, and other tiny places can cause such pain but with this electric scrubber, it’s a breeze and zero pain!
This handy gadget cleans faster and easier than manually scrubbing ever could. If you or someone you know uses the old toothbrush trick to clean tiny spaces, they NEED this powerful cleaning tool. A few years ago I broke my wrist, we hired a housekeeper to help with the cleaning. She was so impressed with this little scrubber that she went out and bought one for each of her employees that very same day! Both of these gadgets really are useful for just about anyone, not just those of us with arthritis.
If you have any questions about any of the gift ideas for a special person in your life that suffers from inflammation due to arthritis, please leave a comment below. After ten plus years living with three types of arthritis, I hope the gift suggestions help improve the life of someone you love.
