Basically, the home decor addict in my life is, well…. I have to admit, it’s me. I put together a list of fabulous home decor and DIY items that I own or would love to receive as a gift and hope it makes shopping for the decorating addict in your life a little bit easier.
Perfect Gift #1 – Handcrafted Wooden Signs
Home decorating is always fun with whimsical wooden signs, my friend Kari has an adorable shop with the cutest wood, metal and canvas signs.
Handcrafted signs from The Farmhouse Addict, signs make a perfect gift for the home decorator in your life. Any of these adorable signs would also make a thoughtful and most awesome hostess gift. If you are heading out to enjoy a yummy Christmas meal, give thanks that you didn’t have to make it and show your appreciation to the cook with a sign for her home!
Perfect Gift #2 – Gift Baskets
Every DIY and home decorating lover needs more craft supplies and of course, a pretty place to store them all. A gift basket or wooden crate filled with new craft supplies is sure to bring a smile!
This gold basket from Lillian Vernon is dreamy. OMGosh, don’t you just love that it’s personalized?
Lovin’ these wooden crates. The chalkboard fronts make it easy to change the label, they come in a variety of sizes depending on the gift you are giving and afterwards they are great for storing all sorts of home items. I have these wooden bins in a grey tone on the shelves in my office/craft room.
This French Farmhouse vintage wire basket is a delightful alternative for your homemade gift basket.
Perfect Gift #3 – Craft Supplies
Do you know any DIY addict who doesn’t love chalk paint?
Adirondack white is my favourite color in the Folk Art Home Decor line. I recently used this paint to DIY placemats/wooden chargers, ornaments, and a coat hook for my office. Craft supplies are fairly inexpensive but when you add them to a gift basket, it adds up to one amazing DIY gift.
There can never be enough holiday glitter, here is some to include in the gift basket. Advantus non-toxic sparkling glitter is available in clear and nine other sparkly colours. The clear lid makes finding the right colour convenient so your DIY’er can get right to crafting.
It’s always a treat to give supplies that the craft lover can turn into new home decor items. This natural, unfinished set of wood slices includes 20 pcs. along with the jute twine for hanging. What a sweet deal, click the images below to check it out!
Your Home Decorator addict might DIY the unfinished discs into beautiful Christmas ornaments, and who knows, maybe you will be lucky enough to get a homemade ornament from them next year!
Perfect Gift #4 – Blankets
When I saw this personalized tartan blanket from Lillian Vernon, I knew it belonged on this gift list. Home decorators use blankets to accent sofas, benches, chairs, they throw them in baskets, on the hearth, and basically anywhere and everywhere. You can have this particular tartan blanket monogrammed with their initials.
This blanket is also a perfect addition to my earlier post “Practical Gifts for Anyone with Arthritis.” If you would like to buy a meaningful gift for someone who suffers from the pain of arthritis be sure to check out my gift recommendations >> here.
Perfect Gift #5 – Stars
Stars of all sizes are a go-to decorating favourite over the holidays. Stars are like flour, a staple in your pantry, a must-have decor item in your addicts’ life. And I mean addict in a good way, simply that decorating is their top hobby!
This timeless, winter white metal wreath with a gold ribbon is a perfect gift which they will hold dear for years to come.
Perfect Gift #6 – Professional Interior Design Room Makeover or Consult.
For the person in your life who could use a helping hand when it comes to decorating, perhaps it is a skill that evades them no matter how hard they try. Or maybe they are so busy decorating for others, they can’t seem to find time to decorate their own space. kind of like how a carpenter’s own home is never finished!
My friend Cheyenne has such a good eye for all things interior design. One look at Cheyenne’s website Sense & Serendipity and you will crave her styling touch in your home too. Every room she transforms really turns out magical and her interior styling is impeccable. Who wouldn’t love a gift certificate for a room makeover consultation?
