Hey friend, I am so excited you are here today! Check out these eight simple farmhouse home decor ideas and be sure to let me know your fave in the comments below.
As I wrote this post, I was thinking how the past few months just flew by, which in turn got me thinking back, way back, to the time when there were little children in our home. You might not know this about me, but I operated a licensed daycare out of my home when I had three little girls of my own. Now that was busy! Yes, those days were bustling but I gotta tell you, I was in my glory. I loved having a full house and all the little ones around, each one so precious and wonderful. The honesty of children is always a breath of fresh air. But enough of my reminiscing, let me tell you why life is busy and awesome right now.
You see, our youngest daughter moved back home with her one year old mini-golden doodle pup, Aspen. It is truly lovely to have them both staying with us but I must say, I tire quicker than when I was in my twenties taking care of all those littles. What a surprise, right? Wait a minute, isn’t 50 the new 20? The pup has loads of energy and keeps me running! Between the trips to the backyard, the dog park, our daily walks, and tug of war playtime, I am definitely pooped (pardon the pun) out at the end of the day. I am enjoying these days as soon enough they will move back out on their own. While the summer home decorating is still a work in progress, it’s no biggie, and I am good with it. The time I spend with my daughter and her pup are far more important than any home decor.
All this to say that one of the reasons I have fallen for farmhouse decor is that it reflects simplicity, family, and it’s a rustic, comfortable style that is super homey! Modern farmhouse reflects my decorating style. By combining the sleek clean lines of contemporary design a cozy aesthetic; I create a fresh take on the country living inspired style. Farmhouse decor can easily be mixed with almost anything, whether your style is shabby chic, modern, or traditional you can incorporate these vintage pieces for added charm.
